happy 5th birthday vapour

In what seemed like a lifelong search for the best and cleanest makeup, a connection was made in the Spring of 2011. Happily, sarimotley cosmetics found a beauty brand that walked the walk and talked the talk: Vapour Organic Beauty.

Vapour produces color cosmetics made from food-grade ingredients sustainably and honestly. With its unparalleled purity, Vapour Organic Beauty is about to celebrate five years of bringing the world a better, cleaner makeup made with organic ingredients. This brand is as much about being naturally gorgeous as it is about being green. I am delighted to celebrate bringing Vapour to you, to Houston, to a community of people who love the way it feels on their skin and how gorgeous they look when they wear it.

Happy Birthday Vapour!

summer color is blooming

The go-to color for summer 2014 is a combo of purple, fuchsia and pink that draws you in with beguiling charm; it’s called radiant orchid. If you have not seen this hue yet, you will soon. It has a magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination (pantone.com).

For starters, color is fun! It says “confidence” and offers a little something that makes you feel good.  You’ll find this color and shade variations for eyes, cheeks and lips popping up everywhere.

Pair your favorite variation of radiant orchid with yellow, gold, green, blue or pink. Add neutral tones to soften and make bright hues feel more wearable, or don’t, be bold.

happy summer!

nurture your nails

with the holidays soon approaching, there's no better time to treat yourself to something special. nurture your nails at home with butter LONDON...
follow the steps below for the perfect do-it-yourself mani/pedi; products available at sarimotley.com.

1. remove any dirt and nail lacquer from nails with powder room, acetone free polish remover. powder room will gently remove all traces of nail lacquer, and has a soft powdery scent.

2. apply melt away cuticle eliminator to nails. melt away breaks down and softens dead skin cells for gentle cuticle removal.

3. gently push back the cuticles using a rubber-tipped cuticle stick (or pusher). this step helps achieve that “professional” manicured look.

4. shape nails with a file. gently move the file along the edge of the nail, moving in one direction only to prevent splitting and cracking. a nail file with fine grit is preferred for natural nails.

5. rinse hands/nails before applying butter LONDON three-free nail lacquer.

6. apply nail foundation flawless basecoat. this silk-finish, stain resistant, non-toxic basecoat hides and smoothes tiny ridges and imperfections.

7. for weak or damaged nails use horse power nail fertilizer. horse power is an herbal nail rejuvenator that will strengthen and repair nails, and can be used as both a basecoat and topcoat.

8. apply the first coat of nail lacquer onto your nails. a nice, thin coat will go on smooth and dry quickly. this will decrease the likelihood of nicks or smudges.

9. let your nails dry for a few minutes.

10. if desired, apply a second coat of nail lacquer onto your nails.

11. once dry, apply hardwear p.d. (pretty darn) quick topcoat onto your nails. hardwear protects the layers of color beneath and gives a super-shiny finish.

12. let your nails dry for another few minutes.

13. apply handbag holiday cuticle oil to maintain healthy nails.

14. have pretty nails...
